Goals Soccer Schools has been helping young people in Plymouth enjoy and develop through football since 1992. Our aim is simple: to give children of all abilities the opportunity to play football, develop their skills and confidence, and enjoy being part of the game in a positive and supportive environment.
Established in Plymouth in 1992, Goals Soccer Schools has helped generations of young footballers take their first steps into football and continue their development. Our football coaching is built around fun, enjoyment and maximum participation, with activities structured around the age and stage of development of each player. For some children, Goals is their first experience of organised football. For others, it provides an opportunity to continue developing their skills, confidence and understanding of the game.
We believe youth football should be about developing the individual, not simply winning matches. Our aim is to engage and encourage young players, including those who may not yet have the confidence or experience to join a traditional team environment.
Children develop at different rates. By creating a positive, pressure-free environment, we give players the freedom to learn, make mistakes, build confidence and, most importantly, enjoy playing football.
The Goals programme welcomes young players of all abilities, from children experiencing football for the first time to those looking to develop further. Alongside regular coaching, players can have opportunities to put what they have learned into practice through age-appropriate development matches and, as they progress, our Devon Junior & Minor League (DJM) teams.
This combination of coaching and match experience gives young players the opportunity to develop their skills and understanding of the game while enjoying the social and team aspects of grassroots football.
Goals Soccer Schools is proud to be part of the grassroots football community in Plymouth and we are an England Football Accredited club and aim to provide a welcoming environment in which young players can enjoy football, develop at their own pace and build a lasting love of the game.

Both my boys have had experience with Goals Soccer School. My eldest trained with Andy on Saturdays and my youngest is part of one of the teams. My experience has been a very good one, the setup is so good, the focus is on the kids development and growth in a fun and supportive environment. Kids football done as it should be!
It’s great to be a part of! The facilities are amazing and it’s all about kids just having fun and playing football! ( whilst still trying to win of course! )
Good coaches Gareth and Jo will do alot for the kids putting in extra time when needed.Always supporting them. What would I change? Training - must be changed from a sandy hard hockey pitch to a safe 3 g pitch or grass regardless to grow confidence and quality. Non of this development nonsense that when they get older they go onto a safer pitch? All in all Gareth and Jo are fantastic.
My 2 sons have been with Goals since they were 6 or 7, initially training with Andy and then moving into teams with the club. The development and training has been fantastic, but it is the ethos at Goals that is really special. The Club strive to create a fun, inclusive and positive environment for everyone where the kids can have fun and play competitive, enjoyable football. It is a great football club for kids to learn to love the game and be part of a competitive team.
Honestly couldn't praise it anymore. I have 3 boys all play for goals. U12- coaches are amazing nothing but positive criticism, cheering them on and telling them how well they are doing. U10- Gareth is amazing. Great sense of humour and He really understands the kids. Praises them tells them how they can improve and what they have done great. My boys are so happy at goals. I couldn't thank the boys enough
I have been in and around local football for quite a few years and can honestly say the commitment and dedication from those behind the scenes is second to none. Not only do they never stop but they are great people as well.
